STUDENT SHAKESPEARE ALLIANCE
The Student Shakespeare Alliance seeks to provide middle and high schoolers with the knowledge and opportunities required to engage with the art of theatre making. Modeled after The UTA’s origins as a scrappy, student-led high school club, The SSA aims to empower students with the tools they need to fully design, manage, and produce their own creative vision. Under a Shakespearean lens, students are able to freely bring new life to well-known stories, while enforcing classical acting skills in a fun and meaningful way. By making art in collaboration with their peers - independent of an adult’s vision - students are empowered with the confidence and skills to not only participate in theatre, but to make it their own.
